Crop Make n' Take

This was my make and take for a crop that I was a vendor at yesterday. The medallion stamp is from Stampin' Up! and I knew I wanted to incorporate it somehow. So, I stamped the medallion on confetti white using versamark ink. I then used my daubers and chalks to add the color. It's a great technique called Poppin Pastels and it gets you to dig out those chalks! I also wanted to keep the colors in the brown family and maybe get a card that was somewhat masculine. The ladies enjoyed the technique last night. Let me know what you think. Until next time, happy stamping!

Fifth Avenue Floral

This is probably one of my favorite cards that I have made recently. I believe the name of the technique is re-inker push. First, I stamped the large flower (Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue Floral) on shimmer paper and embossed with white embossing powder. Next, I picked up some re-inker drops with my Aqua Painter and pushed the color around until I got the desired look. It's a super easy technique and you should definitely give it a try. Please let me know if you have any questions and enjoy!!!

Aren't the colors wonderful? This card uses the Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.

Open House Decoration

Here's another quick picture that I wanted to share with you today. This is one of the decorations that I made for my Open House. I had it on the table by the snacks.

This project uses the new In Colors and the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. The stamp set I used was Circle Circus which is a very versatile stamp set. Lots of fun!

Hope you enjoy and Happy Stamping!

New Recipe to Share

I have a lot of stuff to share from my Open House, but my camera cord is no where to be found. As soon as I find it, I will start sharing everything with you. In the meantime, I have an awesome recipe to share that I made at my Open House. Let me know how you like it!

Spinach and Artichoke Dip
1 package (10 oz.) frozen spinach--thawed and drained
1 can (15 oz.) artichoke hearts--drained and chopped
½ cup mayo--not Miracle Whip
½ cup sour cream
4 ounces cream cheese--softened
8 ounces mozzarella cheese--shredded (I add a little more)
1 cup Parmesan cheese--shredded
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder--optional (I did not use this)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Drain spinach well, pressing between layers of paper towel to completely dry. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Pour into a 3 qt. casserole, cover and bake 20-30 minutes or until bubbly.
Serve with veggies, tortilla chips, etc.

Enjoy!!!

Okay, I've been MIA for awhile! I just transferred jobs and the schedule has been a huge adjustment. I'm still not sure about working nights. Ugh! On the bright side, I will have a lot more to post in the next few weeks. I had time to stamp this weekend and I had a great time. It's been awhile!! So I hope you enjoy everything I have coming up.

Long Overdue!

Okay, I am long overdue for posting. I think I got a little behind with my vacation to Germany. I picked one of my favorite cards to share with you today. The stamp is one of the very first that I bought and I couldn't tell you who makes it! The card base is kraft card stock and the bronze card stock is metallic. The technique uses glue and Pearl-Ex. The glue is smeared all over the paper and you sprinkle the Pearl-Ex on and heat it up until it bubbles. A slightly messy technique but well worth the results. If you haven't played with Pearl-Ex yet you definitely should. Lots of fun techniques and I hope Stampin' Up! brings it back sometime. Let me know if you have any questions and I hope you enjoy!

Another Riley!

This is one of the Easter cards that I made this year. I'm going to send this one to my aunt. I had plans to get some more cards done, but that hasn't happened yet. Maybe I will find some time to play tomorrow. Enjoy!

Bubble Time!!!

This has to be one of my favorite images from Stamping Bella. I love it and it is so fun to color. I highlighted some of the bubbles with Stickles and the background paper has glitter so it is nice and sparkly in real life. I hope you enjoy and feel free to leave a comment!

This was a card that I designed using a layout from Queen Kat Designs at www.katstamps.com. It's another great website to check out if you aren't familiar. I have purchased some grab bags from her and they were awesome. I also have a long list of stamps that I want to purchase. You can never have too many stamps, right? Hmm...I might be bias or at least addicted! Let me know what you think of the card. Hope you enjoy!

New Stampin' Up! Toys

Here's a card that I did for an SU Occassions Swap. It uses the new Oval All set that comes out in April. The stamp set coordinates with the new Oval Scallop punch which I love! Let me know what you think!

Not the greatest picture, but I think you get the idea! All of the paper on this card is from SU and the image is from a Riley Stamp. There are tons of cute Riley images and you can get them at http://www.hannastamps.com/. I just love coloring in these images. Perfect for using your Prismacolor pencils!

New Cards!!!

I was playing the other day with my prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits and this is one of the cards that I came up with. The image is from Inkadinkado stamps and I think it is adorable. After is was colored I added some glitter to give it a little sparkle. The paper is some older Creative Memories paper that I had on hand. Let me know what you think!

MFT April Guest Designer Call

Here is my submission for MFT's Guest Designer call for April. The challenge was to use buttons in your design. I had originally pulled out my MFT images but this just seemed to work for me today. It's an older SU Sale-A-Bration set and one of my favorites. I just love the quotes that it comes with. The set is called Happy Harmony. I hope you enjoy! Oh, and if you haven't checked out the stamps at My Favorite Things you should!

Cracked Class Technique

This is a great technique! If you haven't tried it you definitely should. I stamped the Upsy Daisy image from Stampin' Up! on whisper white paper. You have to use Ultra Thick Embossing Powder by UTEE. After you stamp your image, apply Versamark over the entire image. Cover with the embossing powder and heat with the heat gun. It will be bumpy. Once the image is cool, cover it with Versamark and repeat. You will do this once more for a total of three times. By the third time you emboss the image will be much smoother. Pop the image in the freezer for about 5 minutes. When you pull the image out of the freezer, bend the image various ways for it to crack. It's a pretty easy technique that gives great results. If you want a more aged look, sponge ink into the cracks. I hope you get the chance to try this and let me know what you think.

Party Hearty!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today. Please forgive my amateur photography. I have yet to master the technique of photographing cards. If you have any tips, please share! The first card is one that I will be demonstrating at an upcoming Stampin' Up! home class. The picture really doesn't do the card justice. The party hats are stamped on Whisper White using the marker technique. I then ran the image through the Xyron and glittered it. Very sparkly in real life!
